Our focus is "Growing in God and living for Christ in our community". We will do this with a mixture of prayer, worship, Bible study and discussion of social issues.

Our overall goal will be to support and stregnthen each other as we follow Jesus. This will lead us to reach out to our neighbours with the love of Christ. We will encourage each other in this.

The Monday Bible Study Group

Leader: Joan de Groot, 453 1930

Meets: 7:30 p.m. on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month, in Joan's home, 23 Mitchell Ave.

Our group has met since 2009 for people who want to know more about the Bible.

Members decide on the section to be studied and are encouraged to lead the discussions. We relate what we read to world events and we share personal experiences and support each other where help is needed.

Immigrants Life Group

Leader: Judy Hogg, 453 4560

Meets: Thursday nights at Roger & Judy Hogg's home, 90 Hocken St

  • provides Christian teaching

Young Adults Bible Study

Community focus:

This group is for the older members of the youth group and other young adults. It is specifically a Bible study group designed to help young people:

  • understand Christian faith
  • know their Bibles

Each session focuses on a passage asking:

  • What does it say?
  • What does it mean?
  • What does God want me to do as a result?

Thursday Life Group @ MPC

Leader: Fergus & Mary Jane Sime, 453 4008

Meets: fortnightly on Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. at 4445 East taieri-Allenton Road, East taieri.

We intend to grow our relationship with Gos, as disciples of Jesus, as we study God's written and living word and apply what we learn to daily life In a welcoming environment we prayerfully and practicall support each other, thereby strengthening our Mornington church family.

As the group develops, we will look at how we can serve the wider community in Christian mission based on prayerful discernment and gifts of the group members.
